Given the ongoing demographic changes in music, education, society, and culture, how can orchestra teachers curate performances that is responsive to the needs of their student's communities? How does community responsiveness validate and affirm students’ home environments, community spaces, and places of learning? In this session, educators will learn the importance of DEIA efforts through community-responsive pedagogy and learn strategies to reach out to their student’s communities and include them in the process of music-making.
