Carly Galloway, Bachelor of Music, Assistant Orchestra Director, Klein ISD
Carly Galloway began playing the violin at the age of 10 through the Klein Independent School District 5th Grade Strings Program. She continued playing in her school orchestra in middle school and high school, ultimately deciding to pursue a degree in Music Education. Carly attended the University of Houston Moores School of Music, where she studied violin with Andrezej Grabiec and was a member of the Moores School Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Franz Krager. During her time at Moores, she also participated in masterclasses with world-renowned pedagogues Kathleen Winkler and Timothy Hester, as well as obtaining a coveted spot in the 2016 Texas Music Festival Orchestra, working with Hans Graf, Glen Dicterow, and many others. For three years, she served as a string intern for the AFA Summer Music Festival and AFA Year-Round Programs, where she frequently coached chamber music groups and sectionals. She now returns every summer to coach chamber groups and lead violin sectionals as a faculty artist. Carly graduated with a degree in Music Education in May of 2016 and has served as the Assistant Orchestra Director at Ulrich Intermediate School since August of 2016. Under her tutelage, the Ulrich Orchestras have received consistent superior ratings at UIL Contests. During the 2020-2021 school year, Carly lead students in a historical occurrence of all three competing ensembles receiving a rating of Sweepstakes, as well as the Ulrich Chamber Orchestra being named as a finalist in the 2021 Mark of Excellence Competition. She enjoys working with her students and watching them not only grow and develop their musical skills, but also their character and self-esteem.
