Dr. Justin Langham is a conductor, performer, composer, and teacher based in Houston, Texas.
Originally from Mobile, Alabama, he earned a double Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet and composition from the University of Alabama, followed by his Masters and Doctoral of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Houston, where he studied trumpet with Jim Vassallo and choral conducting with Dr. Betsy Cook Weber.
As a performer, Dr. Langham maintains an active schedule around the U.S. and abroad. As a member of the internationally-renowned trumpet and organ duo, Deux Voix (“two voices”), he has concertized in venues such as St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, the L’Organo Series at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, and the Bergen International Organ Festival in Norway. He has also maintained an active freelance career in the greater Houston area since moving there in 2013, performing with various ensembles including the Houston Civic Symphony and Houston Ballet Orchestra.
Dr. Langham is entering his ninth year as a church musician. He is currently the Director of Traditional Music at First United Methodist Church in Missouri City, Texas, where his groups have been featured in publications by the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and the Houston Chronicle. He is an active member of TCDA, ACDA, and ASCAP.
