Kieley Simonsen Morales is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Masters Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, as well as Organ Performance. She also holds a Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance from Centenary College of Louisiana. Throughout her academic career, Kieley has had the privilege of studying piano pedagogy with Ivan Hurd, organ with S. Andrew Lloyd, and piano with Kasandra Keeling, Ross Smith, and Cathy DeRousse. While at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Kieley held a Graduate Assistantship in Collaborative Piano, where she played for multiple operas, and taught Class Piano as a Graduate Assistant Instructor. Kieley has also performed in various masterclasses with renowned musicians, including Ludmila Berlinskaya, Arthur Ancelle, and Jean-Baptiste Robin.
Kieley has a love for collaborating with other musicians. While at Centenary College of Louisiana, she served as the accompanist for the Centenary College Choir, which included over twenty full concerts every year, as well as various local and international tours. Since moving to San Antonio in 2018, Kieley has been an active collaborative pianist in the community. She has enjoyed working with many local high school choral programs and has played for their concerts, UIL competitions, solo and ensemble competitions, and many musicals. Kieley has also previously been a collaborative pianist for OPERA San Antonio chorus auditions and frequently works with vocalists in both choral and solo settings. She is also an active member of the San Antonio Music Teacher’s Association and serves on the board as the 2nd Vice President.
Kieley works at Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church and the Atonement Catholic Academy as the full-time organist and collaborative pianist for both the church and school. Recent concerts at the church include performances of large works, such as Durufle’s Requiem and John Stainer’s The Crucifixion. She also maintains a private studio of piano students and enjoys performing two-piano repertoire with her piano duo partner, Cara Lamb.
Although she loves working with vocalists, Kieley also loves to sing herself. She enjoys performing with her internationally ranked barbershop quartet, Saving Grace, and sings with the choirs at Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church when she’s not needed at the keyboard.
